Help get an inspiring, passionate young leader in youth suicide prevention to attend the Asia Pacific Suicide Prevention Congress

February 7, 2018

Lionel Rogers, is a young vibrant leader in Fiji who founded a peer youth suicide prevention program. What he has achieved through his passion, dedication and his countless hours of volunteer work would put to shame what many NZ or Australian organisations that has much more funding.

I first met Lionel when he attended the Asia Pacific Outgames Human RIghts Conference which I organised in Wellington in 2011. Since then I have watched him show great leadership, political advocacy in not only suicide prevention but also LGBTI young people.

Lionel has had his abstract accepted to present at the Asia Pacific Suicide Prevention Congress which is being held in NZ at the start of May. His work is worthy of being showcased at this conference.

Lionel has very limited income and can not afford to pay for his travel to NZ. I have arranged for free registration. If 75 of my friends on Facebook donated $20 we will have his airfare, accommodation and travel insurance paid for. Please help this inspiring young leader to get to the congress. THANKS
